Berjaya Times Square

Semalam saya telah pergi ke Berjaya Times Square untuk menyaksikan CIMB KL OPEN SQUASH CHAMPIONSHIP 09. Perlawan akhir yang cukup sengit antara juara dunia no.1, Nicol David dan Natalie Grainger daripada USA.

Nicol mengalami sedikit kecederaan pada tangannya semasa perlawanan ke-2. Malah perlawanan sedikit terjejas apabila masalah kayu garisan pembahagi asyik tertanggal memberi tekanan kepada Nicol.

Walaupun perlawanan nampak sengit, tapi dapat dilihat Nicol telah hilang fokus kerana bermain dalam keadaan gelisah dan berterabur. Akhirnya memberi jalan kepada Natalie yang tenang untuk menguasai perlawanan. Saya dapat lihat di sini Natalie sangat suka bermain strategi 'Back Hand'.

Sungguh mengecewakan kerana kemenangan Natalie 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 11-6 dalam masa 51 minit telah mengakhiri rentetan 56 perlawanan tanpa kalah Nicol sejak Final Terbuka British November 2007.

Selaku peminat sukan squash, akhirnya saya pulang dengan perasaan sangat sedih dan kecewa. Semoga perlawanan akan datang memberi harapan baru kepada Nicol.
